Modification of Booking

Extension/Shortening of booking end date & time: -

  • 1. If booking is shortened before 48 hours of booking end date & time, then 20% of the base fare will be charged for the shortened duration.
  • 2. Shortening of end time will not be possible once the booking has started or within 48 hours of booking start time. Customer can return the Vehicle early & there will not be any charge for early return but no refund will be done for the unexpired period .
  • 3. Extension of booking can be done till 3 hours before booking end date & time. Charges will be applicable as follows
    1. a. If Vehicle is available, Normal fare will be applicable for the total extended hour.
    2. b. If vehicle is not available, then we will not be able to extend your booking. In case vehicle is returned late, then normal fare*2 times will be applicable for the total extended hour.

Preponement/postponement of booking start date & time: -

  • 1. If booking start date & time is preponed before 48 hour of Booking start date & time, then normal fare will be applicable subject to availability of the vehicle.
  • 2. If booking start date & time is postponed before 48 hour of booking start date & time, then 20% of the base fare will be charged as modification fees for the modified time
  • 3. Booking preponement and postponement will not be possible within 48 hour of booking start time.

Cancellation of Booking:-

  • 1). If Cancellation is done before 48 hours from the booking start time, 20% of the base fare will be charged as cancellation fees (GST will be applicable on base fare)
  • 2). If Cancellation is done within 48 hours from the booking start time, 50% of the base fare or maximum 2-day Rental (whichever is higher) will be charged as cancellation fees (GST will be applicable on base fare).
  • 3). If cancellation is done after booking start time/No show, no refunds would be applicable.
  • 4). If Booking is cancelled due to violation of policy, Cancellation charge will be applicable as per cancellation Policy (GST will be applicable on base fare)
  • Note: Urban Drive reserves the right to cancel any booking if deemed necessary.
  • 1. In case of Vehicle model up gradation, renter needs to pay the difference amount for the upgraded model. This can be done till 3 hours before the booking start date & time (with subject to availability of the Vehicle).
  • 2. Vehicle model cannot be downgraded.
  • 1. Vehicle must be picked up from the selected hub and has to return to the same hub.
  • 2. In case, Renter needs delivery of the Vehicle at his convenient location within a city, the pick up or collection will be provided on chargeable basis till 20 KM from Hub location which is selected at the time of booking. Extra Km charge will be applicable If delivery/pickup location is outside the limit. Start time, fuel and KM will be calculated from hub or till hub during pickup/return.
  • 3. In case, Delivery/ collection is not opted and renter left the vehicle at some other locations, then renter is liable for the full amount including all actual cost for transporting the vehicle to the correct location plus INR 1500, plus the full hourly rate and the late fees until the vehicle is returned to the correct location.
  • 1. We offer the vehicle with a sufficient amount of fuel and accept it back with same amount.
  • 2. In case customer return with lesser fuel, then charges for refueling along with service charge shall be deducted from the Security Deposit.
  • 3. In case customer return with higher amount of fuel, then no refund will be made for the same.
  • 1. You need to submit one original ID proof (Aadhar, Passport or Voter Id Card) and produce/show original copy of your Driving License.
  • 2. You should be minimum 23 years of age for Self Drive Vehicle and must possess a valid driving license held for minimum 1 year. For International customer, valid International Driving Permit will be required in addition to the original driving license.

    Deposit

  • Deposits will be taken online at the time of booking. Deposit varies as per model to model and city to city.

    Overspeeding Charges:-

  • Speed limit differs for all the cities roads/highways in India. In case there is no speed limit prescribed on any highway, Renter cannot drive for more than 120 Km/hr. In case speed limit is crossed, it will be treated as over speeding and below penalty will be charged.
    • 1. 1st Instance > 120km/hr or Highway speed limit. - INR 1000 + GOVT. fines (if any) plus GST on top of the penalty levied and expulsion from Urban Drive if it happens again in the next booking.
    • 2. 2nd Instance > 120km/hr or Highway speed limit - INR 1500 + GOVT. fines (if any) plus GST on top of the penalty levied and expulsion from Urban Drive.
    • 3. 3rd Instance Onwards >120 km/hr or Highway speed limit. - INR 2500 + GOVT. fines (if any) plus GST on top of penalty levied and expulsion from Urban Drive.

    Damage

  • 1. Renter will confirm himself/herself of the condition of the Vehicle, registration paper, permits and pollution certificate before the start of the rental and note down any existing damages on the rental agreement.
  • 2. In case of Accident, Internal or External damage to the Vehicle during return. This will be calculated on the number of estimated days rental due to Vehicle is in workshop or damages up to maximum liability of Rs.30000 or Insured declared value (whichever is higher).
  • 3. For Minor damages, it will be charged on the estimate given by Fleet team.
  • 4. In case of below situation, Renter will be liable to pay the damage charges in full.
    1. a. When Renter is found to be under the influence of alcohol/narcotics while driving.
    2. b. When the Renter is over-Speeding.
    3. c. When the Renter is in violation of traffic rules or the motor vehicle Act (for example, if the Renter has not paid the interstate tax while crossing the state border).
    4. d. When the number of people on the Vehicle at the time of incident exceeds the standard seating capacity of the Vehicle.
    5. e. When the workshop and/ or insurance company deem the damage to be consequential in nature (this will be stated in the accident report). Consequential damages occur when the Renter continues driving the vehicle even when it is performing abnormally.
    6. f. When there is misrepresentation of information in the driving license and ID proof details shared by the Renter.
    7. g. When suffering from any disease or disability, which may cause his / her driving ability, or which is likely to cause a source of danger to the public and/or to the Vehicle
    8. h. If the Renter/ additional driver (approved from urban drive) not driving the vehicle

    Breakdown

  • 1. In case of mechanical Breakdown out of the city limits, Renter will call and inform Urban Drive helpline. In case replacement can be provided, the same would be provided. In case it is deemed that getting Vehicle repaired locally by the Renter is the best option, then Urban Drive will authorize the renter over email, text or WhatsApp to get the Vehicle repaired locally and reimburse repair charges to the customer.
  • 2. Within city limits, Urban Drive will dispatch mobile maintenance van or replacement Vehicle or both. Rest of the terms as mentioned in the Rental Agreement.

    Replacement

  • In case a Vehicle is taken for maintenance, a replacement vehicle will be provided.
  • 1. Our Vehicles can be driven within city limits. If customer wants to travel to another city, then he needs to inform and take permission from Urban Drive team before starting his/her booking.
  • 2. If Vehicle is taken to any Hilly terrain/Leh Ladakh, then 2 times of the total base fare would be charged
  • 3. Customer is not allowed to take Self Drive vehicle to other countries including Nepal, Bhutan etc. If vehicle is taken outside India without taking approval from Urban Drive, then entire liability will be on customer till the vehicle is returned.
  • 4. Towing – Our vehicles cannot be use for Towing. In case if it is done customer will have to pay a penalty of INR 5000 or security deposit whichever is higher plus expenses arising out of repair cost or such damages.
  • 5. No External Branding (Stickers, Wedding/Flower Decorations/Events etc.) - Any form of external branding on the vehicle is prohibited. Customers are not allowed to paste or paint any external brand promotion on the vehicle. Customers will have to pay a penalty of INR 5000 or security deposit whichever is higher plus Expenses arising out of repair cost or such damages.
  • 6. Vehicle spare part changed - The Renter will be charged a penalty of INR5000 or security deposit whichever is higher over and above the cost of spare part.
  • 7. Tyre misuse - In case of any tyre damages resulting from driving in bad terrain and continued driving in case of tyre puncture, customers will be charged for the cost of tyre on actuals
  • 8. Tampering with the devices (GPS etc.) - Customers are not allowed to tamper with the odometer, GPS device and in-vehicle technology devices. Penalty of INR5000 plus the actual cost of the repair or the fitment will be charged from the Renter.
  • 9. Customers are not allowed to carry arms, ammunitions and banned drugs. In addition, use of vehicle for commercial activity such as product sell and promotion, and carry goods is strictly prohibited. In such cases, Renter will be held liable for any legal action arising out of these activities plus charged a penalty of INR5000 or security deposit amount whichever is higher.
  • 1. Exclusions- All Interstate taxes, fuel cost, parking charges, toll taxes, etc. shall be borne by the renter as per the usage.
  • 2. Traffic/Parking/ Impounding Violations- Customers are liable to pay for any traffic violation tickets received during their journey. Actual Fine Payment plus additional Charge of INR 1000.
  • 3. Additional Driver- In case additional Driver is required who is authorized to drive the vehicle during his journey. Renter needs to inform the same at the time of creating the booking and all his documents needs to be submitted.
  • 4. One-way rental- One Way rental between cities cannot be provided.
  • 5. Unclean Vehicle /Littering/ Smoking - Washing of removables (for footmats, pet hairs etc) would be charged at INR 500. Interior Washing / Dry-cleaning (for seat covers, door panels) would be charged at INR 1000. Smoking INR 1000 + applicable damage costs related to interiors
  • 6. Vehicle Key & documents not returned at the end of reservation - A fine of INR 2500 will be charged plus replacement cost incurred will be charged to the Renter for key.
  • For Documentation, a fine of INR 10,000 will be charged along with the actual charges incurred for re- documentation.
  • 7. Loss of vehicle accessories [Baby seat, Tablet etc.] – INR 5000 or actual cost of the accessory whichever is higher
  • 8. If Customer didn’t return the vehicle on-time, without fuel or with damages etc. Urban Drive partner is authorized to deduct the pending amount from his/her account through security amount/credit card which was given at the time of picking the vehicle
  • 9. Urban Drive reserves all the rights to deny a vehicle to a person unfit to drive or ineligible to meet the requirements. Urban Drive reserves the right to change the terms and conditions at any point of time. Renter accepts that in certain circumstances, it will not be possible to provide Renter with a Vehicle or to provide Renter with the Services he/she has reserved. In such circumstances or if we are in breach of this policy or any contract signed between us or for any reason whatsoever, Renter agrees that Urban Drive maximum liability for any losses (including any loss of profits, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity) in contract or tort will be limited to the value of the base Vehicle hire charges/fees or security deposit (whichever is low), Renter reserved during the booking confirmation process.
  • 10. Urban Drive only acts as an aggregator and does not own any Vehicle but the same are owned by Urban Drive's partner and Urban Drive shall not be liable for any claims that may arise to the Renter while using the Service. Urban Drive is not responsible for the behavior, negligence, conduct, actions or inactions on the part of the Urban Drive's partner that you may avail (through Urban Drive or otherwise). If customer has any complaint in relation to the Service provided, then that dispute must be taken up with the Urban Drive's partner directly.

  • Deposit will be taken either by cash, Wallet or can be Pre-Authorized on Credit card (except Amex card) will be charged from the card at the time of the pickup of vehicle. Credit card should be in the name of Renter.

    Over speeding Charges:-

  • Renter cannot drive for more than 80 Km/hr for vehicles upto 150cc, more than 100 Km/hr for vehicles upto 500cc and more than 120 Km/hr for vehicles more than 500cc. In case speed limit is crossed, it will be treated as over speeding and below penalty will be charged.
    • 1. 1st Instance > INR 500 + GOVT. fines (if any) plus expulsion from Urban Drive if it happens again in the next booking.
    • 2. 2nd Instance > INR 1000 + GOVT. fines (if any) plus expulsion from Urban Drive.
    • 3. Final Instance > INR 2000 + GOVT. fines (if any) plus expulsion from Urban Drive.
